Huawei kicks off marketing campaign at Chicago's food festival

Huawei Device USA, a subsidiary of Chinese telecom company Huawei Technologies Co., on Wednesday kicked off a new brand awareness campaign at the Taste of Chicago, a food festival held annually in downtown Chicago.

The company cooperated with telecom carrier partner T-Mobile to showcase two new Android-based smartphones that will go on sale this summer.

The company also planned to travel to other cities such as Los Angeles, Baltimore and Miami for future stops.

Huawei has its U.S. headquarters in Plano, Texas, and employs 1, 800 people in the country. In the Chicago area, the company has about 40 people working in an office in Rolling Meadows.
