The first China-Russia expo, a new platform for trade and investment, will be held from June 30 to July 4 in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to boost a deeper cross-border trade and investment between the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce(MOFCOM) said on Tuesday.

The China-Russia expo was previously known as the China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair which convened annually since 1990. The annual event was renamed in October last year.

More than 600 Russian companies of different sizes in the energy, aeronautics, shipbuilding, healthcare and equipment manufacturing industries will join the expo, Alexey Gruzdev, the Russian trade representative to China, said at the press conference.

Meanwhile, Russia hopes to attract Chinese investment in infrastructure projects including power station and grid construction, Gruzdev told the Global Times.

China will diversify the trade structure with Russia with efforts in e-commerce and financial cooperation, a MOFCOM official said.
