The Israeli start-up Mantis Vision announced on Monday that it has raised 55 million U.S. dollars from abroad including Chinese company Luenmai Quantum.
Mantis Vision specializes in the development and manufacture of 3D imaging and sensing technologies for smartphones, professional studios and industrial applications.
Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi was the first to use such Israeli technology and integrated it with its recently launched flagship smartphone Mi 8.
Thanks to the Israeli 3D camera, the Mi 8 became the first android device to have facial recognition capabilities which match Apple's Face ID.
Mantis Vision was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in the city of Petah Tikva in central Israel.
Luenmai Quantum is a Chinese firm which engages in the supply and distribution of heat.
