U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday with nine of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on a upbeat note.

Shares of TAL Education and JD.com rose 4.42 percent and 1.67 percent respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks.

Shares of Baidu declined 2.70 percent, the only laggard.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Tuesday as investors digested a batch of corporate earrings reports and major economic data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 126.73 points, or 0.50 percent, to 25,628.91. The S&P 500 increased 8.05 points, or 0.28 percent, to 2858.45. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 23.99 points, or 0.31 percent, to 7,883.66.

As of Friday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 3,072.23, marking a 2.57-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and a 0.61-percent loss for the year-to-date returns. Enditem
