China and Japan on Friday inked a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation of their securities market.

Liu Shiyu, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), and Toshihide Endo, Japan's Financial Services Agency commissioner, signed the document, CSRC said on its website.

The two countries' securities supervisors have pledged to advance the mutually-beneficial and pragmatic cooperation of capital market in an all-round way, it said.

Stock exchanges as well as industry associations of the two countries have also signed MOUs to boost bilateral cooperation, according to the CSRC.
