Volkswagen, Buick, Honda, Audi, and Toyota are the top five most competitive sedan brands in the Chinese market, according to a report released on Friday by the domestic research firm CCID Consulting.
The local brand Cherry ranked sixth. The result shows local brands still have a long way to go to catch up with the international counterparts in branding.
The report, based on a survey made in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, also says that 96 per cent of respondents realize the importance to develop domestic Chinese brands, but only 55.7 per cent of them will buy domestic Chinese sedans now. |
