Changan to develop high-tech mini vehicles

Changan Automobile Group will invest several billion yuan in developing hi-tech mini vehicles independently in the coming years, according to Yin Jiaxu, president of Changan Automobile, recently.

Changan Automobile, headquartered in Chongqing Municipality in West China, is the largest maker of mini cars in the country. Yin said his group is now developing the hybrid power auto technology, which will soon be used into the production. The application of such technology into mini car production can save 16.8 percent fuel. In addition, the group also develops new materials for mini vehicles. According to Yin, Changan now can produce 50,000 sets of change gear cases and other seven parts by using magnesium alloy.
