Nanjing Automobile Group Corp, the Chinese company that bought MG Rover Group Ltd in July, signed an agreement to lease the site of the UK carmaker's factory and said it plans to restart production there.

Nanjing Auto agreed to a 33-year lease with St Modwen Properties Plc on 42 hectares of the 190-hectare site in Longbridge, England, the property company said in an e-mailed statement yesterday. The Chinese carmaker will initially pay 1.8 million pounds (US$3.1 million) a year.
