Non-ferrous metals output to grow 8% annually in 2011-2015

China's total output of 10 major non-ferrous metals will see an annual growth of 8 percent during the 2011-2015 period, the country's industrial authority said in a plan released on Monday.

The growth rate will bring the total output of the metals to around 46 million tonnes by 2015, according to the plan for non-ferrous metal industry during the 12th Five-year Plan released Monday by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The plan said that the sector's industrial added value will grow by an annual rate of 10 percent during the period.

China produced 34.24 million tonnes of 10 major non-ferrous metal products in 2011, up 10.6 percent year-on-year, according to data from the National Development and Reform Commission.

The 10 major non-ferrous metals include copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, stannum, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.
