On the P&T/Wireless & Network Comm China 2009 held on September 16, Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group (Datang Telecom) led its industrial group collectively to exhibit their latest innovative achievements in the fields of TD-SCDMA, microelectronics, wireless access and software.

Early in this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued 3G (the third generation mobile communication technology) licenses to three domestic operators formally, marking that China has officially marched into the 3G era. "Among which, China Mobile received the TD-SCDMA license for independent intellectual property, indicating the independent TD has come into a rapid growth period," as an insider said.

Grasped the opportunity of TD development, Datang Telecom created their own patent through application of patent for their technological R&D and successful innovation, and took part in both national and international standard organizations to enable core patents become standards, then further turned technological standard into commercial products through industrialization, as well as with the advantage in understanding core technology, competed for the leading position on the market.

At present, Datang Telecom has established its own technological innovation system with the TD technological standard as the mainline, open cooperation as the main body and combined production, learning and research. This system has not only been increasingly strengthening the technological innovation ability of Datang Telecom, but also driving the promotion of innovative capacity of China's mobile telecommunication enterprises up, which jointly promoted national telecom industry to obtain dominant advantages in the competition of TD technology industrialization.

Data showed that in the bidding for China Mobile's TD network construction, native enterprises collectively took over 80 percent of the TD market share, by which it realized a historical breakthrough by China's communication industry. Among which, Datang Telecom accumulatively provided China Mobile with more than 30 thousand sets of base stations, set foot in 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions with comprehensive market share up to 30 percent.

In this communication exhibition, Datang Telecom displayed the latest achievements in current TD marketization process, including an all-round solution for indoor, outdoor and special scenarios, "Some latest cutting-edge equipments or networking schemes inside the industry made their debut," an insider told the reporter.

"The follow-up TD technologies and standard development will determine the position of China in the 4G (the forth generation mobile communication technology) competition," Mr. Zhen Caiji, the Board Chairmen of Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group said, "With years of accumulation and innovation in technology, Datang Telecom have obtained a number of core intellectual properties of .TD and TD-LTE (Long Term Evolution)."

Among the new products showed by Datang Telecom, the reporter found that there were the field demos for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)--the core technology for the next generation network, end-to-end solution and video conference, as well as TD-LTE end-to-end solutions, video monitoring and online games. The authentic network environment construction in the exhibition area gave visitors full experience of fast and smooth operation.

Besides system equipments, TD terminal has increasingly become a critical tache on the TD industrial chain. In this exhibition, Datang Telecom launched a solution, which can realize 3G-featured services as 2.2Mbps fast upload, 2.8Mbps wireless internet surfing support and EDGE/GPRS double-mode automatic switch, mobile TV, video sharing and streaming media; Meanwhile, this solution supports CMMB and MBBMS, the mobile TV business platform provided by China Mobile, assuming technological support and guarantee for the launch of mobile TV terminal which satisfies the operators' demands. 

In the future, Zhen Caiji expressed frankly that Datang Telecom will stick to independent innovation and open & cooperation, spare no effort to stand by China Mobile in promoting the progress of TD commercialization, further boost the research on TD subsequent evolutional technologies, so as to lay the foundation for ensuring that China keeps a favorable position in future competition of 4G international communication standard.
