The presentation of the oncoming Quintana: Box Story, a 3D animated movie, lasting for simply dozens of seconds, tempts the appetite of the audience with its gorgeous and magnificent animation absolutely. According to the report, it is the first time that 3D animated movie in China made use of the Cloud Computing for visual rendering effects.

With the domestic IT tycoons are deploying with respect to Cloud Computing and Cloud Computing service is gradually landing; as a result, more and more emails, web search, e-commence, IM (instant messaging) and LBS (location-based service) are applying Cloud Computing. Ever since 2012, the domestic Cloud Computing industry has transformed from the cultivation period to the quasi-mature period, and the Cloud Computing is marching into ordinary people's lives.

Promoting production mode's revolution

"We spend merely three months in fulfilling the complicated rendering of Quintana: Box Story, which benefits from the application of the 6700 sets of AliCloud distributed computer clusters of high performance, i.e. the AliCloud's Cloud Computing Technology", said Wang Jian, president of Alibaba Cloud Computing, who added that the application of Cloud Rendering has completely smashed the bottleneck encountered by domestic 3D animated movies and dramatically enhanced the benefits and efficiency.

It is reported that more and more enterprises are engaged in Cloud Computing's R&D, manufacturing, integration and services, as a result, industrial chain of Cloud Computing is gradually taking shape. On the other hand, its technical reserve is continuously making breakthroughs and Cloud Application is stepping into the period of landing on a large scale.

"Cloud" has not only altered traditional production modes, but also brought new industrial opportunities. Wang Jian once said that "the accumulated calculation amount of Quintana: Box Story has exceeded 10 million CPU core hours. If, in accordance with past practice, animation producers have to purchase servers and build rendering platforms by themselves, it will take at least three years for completion. However, upon the using of Cloud Rendering, more than 90 percent of cost input is economized." Thanks to Cloud Computing, rendering of more movies like Quintana: Box Story will be possible.

Reducing barriers to entry information services industry, Cloud Computing motivates the reform of the production mode, brings chances for the development of numerous small and semi-sized information service enterprises and amplifies business opportunities for more individual and enterprise developers.

A more intelligent life with "Cloud + Terminal"

"The Cloud Computing service, which can be utilized the same way as that of electricity, along with its convenient access, turn many "impossibilities" before into "possibilities" It can be concluded that the industry has poured more expectations into Cloud Clouding.

Cloud Computing is entering the phase of blooming everywhere. During the Fifth China Cloud Computing Conference (CCCC), the reporter discovered the brand-new IT service. By connecting a box as big as palm into any terminal, users are able to intelligently interact with all data centers at the Cloud Terminal. There is no need to carry heavy computers wherever you travel, and what users need is only this "Cloud" box, linked to telephones when in need, so as to remotely login the office systems and conduct telecommuting.

This kind of digital life, consisting of mobile internet, Cloud Computing and smart terminals, will be increasingly intelligent. For example, the unmanned intelligent vehicle in China just accomplished the 104km highway test from Beijing to Tianjin a few days ago. Such an intelligent "driver" is mainly beneficial from the road information data supported by Cloud Computing, as well as the mobile internet and intelligent vehicle terminal. In addition, with the help of an accurate data analysis, the "driver" can recognize routes, stop lines, signal lamps and other traffic signs like real people.

Experts indicate that Cloud Computing has been applied by the government and such industries as telecommunication, education, medical treatment, finance, petroleum and petrochemical and electricity; and that with the gradual forming of the business mode, Cloud Computing will become a universal public service.

"Cloud" requires cultivation and optimization

Data show that in 2012, the global market scale of Cloud Computing has reached USD 107.2 billion, about RMB 60.678 billion yuan of which is accounted by Chinese Cloud Computing market. Compared with those developed countries in Europe and America, China holds tremendous market space in store.

Just as the address during CCCC by Liu Lihua, the deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information,, Cloud Computing has turned out to be a new growth point of the infocommunications industry and with the emerging of mobile internet and mass data, market demand of Cloud Computing will continue to expand; as a result, it is the strategic choice for each government to support the development of Cloud Computing.

However, in China, the distribution of information technology resources is unbalanced, while the market demands are complex and diverse. Liu Lihua expressed that the overall development level of Cloud Computing in China is at a relatively low level compared to the developed countries and we need to optimize Cloud Computing's development environment continuously, ensuring information's safety, strengthening planning and guidance, laying out reasonably and promoting internet infrastructure's establishment. In addition, reinforce core technology research and perfect Cloud Computing's standard system.
