Paltrow speaks for Korean brand
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2005-07-09 11:41

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and model-actor Daniel Henney, star of the popular MBC soap opera My Lovely Sam-soon, will be the new spokesmodels for local fashion brand Bean Pole, the company said on Thursday.

Bean Pole is a casual clothing brand of Cheil Industries, a Samsung affiliate. In order to become a global brand, we must focus on producing high-quality products along with a high-class image, said Won Jong-mu, vice president of Cheil Industries. To enhance brand awareness of Bean Pole abroad, we have decided to designate Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Henney as our new models.

According to the official, Paltrow's elegant and intellectual image and Korean-American Henney's exotic features are considered to represent Bean Pole's Collection Line, a premium line that will be launched in the fall, as chic and stylish.

Paltrow won an Oscar for her role in Shakespeare in Love in 1998. She is known to Korean movie fans for her appearances in films like Seven and A Perfect Murder. Henney, born to an Anglo-American father and a Korean-American mother, was a top fashion model for Dolce & Gabbana and others in Milan and New York before he broke into acting.

Paltrow reportedly said she was pleased with the opportunity to get to know Korea better. Cheil Industries said the star was hoping to reveal a new side of herself in the commercial, which will be shot in London next week and aired in autumn. The contract period is for one year, for the time being, and the company did not comment on the model fees.
