Wild macaque visits villager's home in Jiangxi |

Huang Hongbin, a villager from Shangrao, Jiangxi Province met an "invited visitor" on last Thursday at his home, a wild macaque.
Huang told our reporter that this wild macaque was attracted by the smell of food emitting from a villager's house, and later it was frightened away by the villager and jumped into Huang's house. The macaque was later captured by some villagers, who then fed it various kinds of food.
Zeng Gencheng, an official from local forestry bureau said that this macaque is a species under second-class national protection animal. It was released back to the wild by the villagers that same afternoon. |
