China's Zheng to contest Bangkok WTA event
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2006-08-17 10:48
In-form Chinese player Zheng Jie will make her Thailand debut in October at the $200,000 WTA Bangkok Open, organisers said on Wednesday.

Zheng climbed to 27th in the WTA rankings and number two in Asia after winning her third career title in Stockholm on Sunday, where she defeated former French Open champion Anastasia Myskina of Russia.

The doubles winner from Wimbledon and the Australian Open will be joined by 20th-ranked compatriot Li Na, Australia's Alicia Molik and Argentine Gisela Dulko, who will be aiming to defend her doubles title at the Bangkok event, which runs from October 9 to 15.
