Last Updated(Beijing Time):2007-01-29 16:43

Ever wished you could sue your spouse into silence? A 76-year-old man, surnamed Li, recently took his wife, surnamed Wang, 66, to court in Chongqing, demanding Wang honor his right to silence.

The couple had no children but lived together for decades. Last year, though, Wang started playing mahjong and began having mahjong parties.

Li, who liked reading quietly, finally sued his wife in court, demanding a divorce and the right to be left in silence.

Court staff intervened, Wang stopped inviting people over to play mahjong and the couple were not divorced. (Chongqing Youth News)
