Dollar gains further on U.S. retail sales data

The U.S. dollar advanced against major currencies on Tuesday after data showed that U.S. retail sales rose for the fourth month in July.

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.3206 dollars from 1.3310 dollars of the previous session and the British pound decreased to 1.5446 dollars from 1.5472 dollars.
