Oil prices retreat on profit-taking

Oil prices on Monday dropped for the first time in four trading days following considerable gains last week.

Light, sweet crude for February delivery lost 1.03 U.S. dollars to settle at 99.29 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
