Cold front to sweep China
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-20 22:39

A cold front will sweep most parts of China over the next three days, bringing strong winds and temperature drops, the National Meteorological Center forecast Tuesday.

From Wednesday to Friday, temperatures will drop from five to nine degrees Celsius in most parts of China, with some regions experiencing drops of up to 12 degrees Celsius as a cold front moves eastward, according to the center.

From Tuesday to Wednesday, light or moderate snow will hit the northern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, eastern parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and parts of Gansu Province, the center said.

Meanwhile, strong winds will sweep northern Xinjiang as well as parts of central and western Inner Mongolia, it said.

Heavy rain and rainstorms are expected in south China over the coming two days, affecting northeastern Hunan Province, northern Jiangxi Province, southwestern Zhejiang Province and northwestern Fujian Province, the center said.
