Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met on Monday with Noeleen Heyzer, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
Both sides had in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Heyzer is the first woman to head ESCAP, which was established in 1947 and is the biggest of the UN's five regional commissions, both in terms of population served and area covered. |
