The Beijing Olympics mascots, the Fuwas, will star in two cartoon series on Chinese television in 2008.

A 100-episode animation series named Fuwas Journey to the Olympics by a Beijing television station has attracted investment of 50 million yuan (about 6.5 U.S. dollars) and famous cartoonists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and also from Disney.

The other one is designed by CCTV but the details are secret, said officials at a preliminary ceremony of the International Investment and Trade Fair for Animations, which will be held in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan province, from April 26 to 28 this year.
