Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte believed that the Netherlands and China have many opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Rutte said this in the exclusive interview with Xinhuanet on Saturday.

Rutte also spoke highly of his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang, saying they are truly fruitful.

The Netherlands and China have realized that free trade and open economy is the cornerstone of economic development, Rutte said, and many possibilities are emerging for their cooperation, such as free trade and consumer rights protection.

For further development, Rutte called on China and the Netherlands to continue to work together in the World Trade Organization.

As the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee had concluded, the Dutch prime minister said, he was given positive insights and positive feelings, especially in free trade and economic field.

Rutte added he was impressed by the determination on reforms of the new leadership and believed the Netherlands could work together with China and learn from China.

Rutte also mentioned the upcoming EU-China conference, believing it would provide an opportunity to learn from each other and to improve economic relationships.

Rutte visited China on Nov. 15 and 16.
