Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung met Thura U Shwe Mann, the visiting speaker of the Myanmar Parliament on Monday to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

Leung said Hong Kong is among the top investors in Myanmar and that the economic and trade ties between the two sides have grown stronger in recent years, adding he is glad that Hong Kong and Myanmar concluded the negotiation of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (IPPA) at the end of last year.

"The IPPA could bring about huge economic benefits to both sides and help promote bilateral investment and trade," according to Leung.

Leung said he hopes that the two places will continue to maintain cooperation and close contact in trade and other aspects.
