Croatian president meets Chinese vice premier on ties

Croatian President Ivo Josipovic met with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia on Friday.

Josipovic expressed gratitude to the speedy response and offer of aid from the Chinese government to recent severe flood in Croatia.

The president also sent his sincere condolence to the victims of the severe violent terrorist attack occurred in Xinjiang on Thursday. He said Croatian people stands firmly with the Chinese people in the fight against terrorism for maintaining world peace.

Liu said that Croatia's entry of European Union provides new opportunities for China-Croatia relationship, and China-Europe relationship as well. China will continue to strengthen collaborative relationship in all aspects between China and Croatia and boost the bilateral exchanges and cooperation in areas such as technology, sports, and humanities.

Both sides agreed to take this opportunity to further expand the bilateral cooperation in many areas including economic and trade, infrastructure, tourism, sports and humanities.
