China's legislature holds plenary meeting for elections

The fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) is held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, March 14, 2013. Chairman, vice-chairpersons, secretary-general and members of the 12th NPC Standing Committee, president and vice-president of the state, and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China will be elected here on Thursday. The first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) holds the fourth plenary meeting at 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

Lawmakers will elect leaders of the legislature, state and military, and vote on a draft resolution on the plan of institutional reform and functional transformation of the State Council.
