China's top procuratorate on Monday launched its official microblog account in an effort to boost transparency.

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said its microblog runs on three platforms, sina.com, qq.com and jcrb.com, and will disclose information and solicit public opinions.

The SPP also plans opening an official "WeChat" account, which is an instant messaging application.

It is pressing local procuratorate to strengthen how they communicate with the public through new media.
