CMA utilizes satellite to monitor sand and dust of NW China
CMA utilized the polar-orbiting meteorological satellite FY-3C to monitor sand and dust.
According to the FY-3C monitoring in 1:05 pm of April 25, sand and dust hit southern Xinjiang, northwestern Gansu and western Inner Mongolia as was shown in Picture 1.
Cloud system shrouded western Inner Mongolia and southeastern Gansu.
The sand and dust area monitored by the satellite is about 490 thousand squre kilometers, which becomes larger than that of April 23. The sand and dust cause low visibility and air quality.
