US army general visits Angola

General William Ward, deputy commander of the United States European Command, has ended a visit to the southern African country of Angola, having expressed the wish to help the Angolan army improve the operational capacity.

The general stressed that his presence in Angola will be used to strengthen the existing friendship between the two countries and also the military relations between both nations, reported the Angolan official News Agency ANGOP on Tuesday.

The general, during a 24-hour visit that ended Monday, met Angolan Defense Minister Kundi Paihama and the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA)'s Chief of Staff General Agostinho Nelumba Sanjar.
