Four new ministers in Egypt's caretaker government were sworn in Thursday in a limited reshuffle ahead of a historic presidential vote.
The new ministers are Higher Education Minister Mohamed Abdel- Hameed el-Nashar, Culture Minister Mohamed Saber Arab, Minister of People's Assembly and Shura Council Affairs Omar Mohamed Mohamed Salem and Minister of Manpower and Immigration Refaat Mohamed Hassan, official MENA news agency reported.
They took the oath before the Chairman of the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Hussein Tantawi.
The Cabinet reshuffle came in a response to the parliament who repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with its performance.
The SCAF has been in power since the fall of Hosni Mubarak in February 2011 under the pressure of anti-government protests. It will transfer power by June 30 when a new president is elected. |
