Jakarta police strengthen security during Ramadhan

Jakarta metropolitan police would strengthen security in the religious and shopping centers, which are considered as troubled spots during the holy month of Islam, Ramadhan, a police spokesman said here on Monday.

"We will conduct patrols on the shopping and religious centers during the Ramadhan," Jakarta police spokesman named only Tjiptiono told reporters at the city police headquarters.

He said the security would be heightened particularly during the evening when Muslims performing pray and in early morning.

Indonesian police had warned of another possible terror attack in the near future.

The US mission office has issued a warning on its citizen here of the most possible terror attacks between Oct. 4 to 20.
