Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman is leading a Malaysian delegation to the first-fledged ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council) Ministerial Meeting in Bahrain.

The two-day meeting, which begins in Manama, Bahrain on Monday, will discuss and review the existing cooperation as well as exchange views on international and regional developments, according to a statement from the Malaysian Foreign Ministry here on Monday.

The meeting would also serve as a good opportunity to exchange views on international and regional developments between both regions, the ministry said.

The GCC was established in 1981 in Saudi Arabia and it currently comprises six Gulf countries, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
