South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Monday called for pan-government efforts to successfully host the upcoming conference on global nuclear security.
During a visit to the organizing committee of the Nuclear Security Summit, scheduled for Mar. 26-27 in Seoul, Lee called on all government agencies and ministries concerned to make further efforts to win the public support for the forum, his office said in a statement.
The president was also briefed on ongoing preparations for the summit, aimed at reducing and protecting radioactive materials and keeping terrorists away from nuclear materials and facilities.
The two-day summit will bring together 58 heads of state and international organizations.
The first summit was held in Washington in 2010. |
