At least seven people were injured Friday in an accident involving eight vehicles in Okayama Prefecture in western Japan.
According to the country's public broadcaster Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK), the accident occurred at around 9 a.m. local time on the Sanyo Expressway in Kasaoka City of the prefecture.
The broadcaster said a truck slammed into other seven vehicles that had stopped on the motorway due to traffic congestion and those injured were carried to hospitals. The motorway was temporarily closed after the crash but reopened by noon. The cause of the accident is under investigation. |
