India condemns killing of nationals in Nigeria

The India High Commission in Nigeria on Thursday condemned the attack on its nationals in northeast city of Maiduguri and called on Nigerian government to thoroughly investigate the incident.

Two Indians were killed on Wednesday at a Gum Arabic factory by assailants who carted away cash.

One other Indian, who escaped death was severely injured.

In a statement reaching Xinhua in Abuja, the country High Commissioner, Mahesh Sachdev gave the names of the deceased as Shanker Saha, and Bokul Mondal both aged 35, while 43 years old Biresh Yadev sustained injuries.

Sachdev said all three victims still reside in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital with their families in spite of the security challenges and urged government to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice. He condoled with families of the deceased and wished Yadev a speedy recovery.
