South Korea will conduct a three-day civilian emergency drill next month, the ministry of public administration here said Friday.
The 45th Ulchi Exercise will be held nationwide between Aug. 20- 23 and will involve 410,000 government employees.
Drills aimed at better guarding against localized provocations by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will be newly included in the annual exercise, according to the ministry.
Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik said the exercise, launched in 1968 after the DPRK's botched attempt to raid Seoul's presidential office, will review South Korea's crisis management capabilities. |
