Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh will pay an official visit to the United States from Sept. 18-20 to boost bilateral ties, the government's press office said Tuesday.

During his visit, Khurelsukh is expected to hold talks with top U.S. officials, and the two sides will exchange views on bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest, the office said in a statement.

"The two countries will outline a roadmap to further strengthen economic cooperation," it said.

Also, Khurelsukh will sign a declaration of agreement with U.S. aid-giving body Millennium Challenge Corporation.

In addition, Khurelsukh is scheduled to attend the 73rd UN general assembly session, and meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as well as Mongolian representatives living in the United States.

This will be Khurelsukh's first visit to the United States since becoming prime minister in October last year.
