President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov appointed Chyngyz Aidarbekov the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan by signing the corresponding decree, his press service reported on Wednesday.
Earlier, members of the Kyrgyz Parliament approved the candidacy of Aidarbekov for the post.
the 41-year old Aidarbekov was nominated by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziyev.
Till now Aidarbekov had served as ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Japan.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Abdyldaev tendered his resignation on Oct. 12 at his own request. The same day, the president of Kyrgyzstan accepted his resignation.
Abdyldayev resigned after the statement of Kyrgyz Ambassador to South Korea Kylychbek Sultan in local media about violations and corruption in the Foreign Ministry. In response, the leadership of the Foreign Ministry stated about diplomatic service violations by the ambassador himself during his diplomatic missions.
After the country's Security Council examined the statements of the parties. As a result, the Security Council revealed a number of violations in the activities of both the Foreign Ministry and the ambassador.
As a result Ambassador Sultan was also dismissed.
