An intensive gunfire was heard in the diplomatic zone in Clifton area of Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, local media reported on Friday.

According to reports, a group of gunmen opened fire in the area where several foreign consulates are located.

Police and security forces rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
