Albanian prime minister reshuffles cabinet
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2007-03-13 15:03
Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha announced on Monday that he has completed his cabinet reshuffle, saying the move would facilitate his country's entry into the EU and the NATO.

Five ministries have been affected: Gazemend Oketa replaces Deputy Prime Minister IIlir Rusmali, who moves to the Justice Ministry post to substitute for Aldo Bumci; Bujar Nishani replaces Sokol Olldashi, who resigned from the Interior Ministry to run in last month's local elections; Majlinda Bregu takes over the European integration Ministry from Arenca Trashani and at the sametime serves as the government spokeswoman; Ylli Pango replaces Bujar Leskaj at the Culture Ministry; and Nard Ndoka substitutes for Health Minister Maksim Cikuli.

The new cabinet has to be approved by the president and the parliament, where the ruling Democrats coalition holds the majority of the 140 seats.

Berisha's government came to power in September 2005, when it won the general elections to replace a socialist-led coalition.
