Residences in Recques, the most affected city, were inundated with 60 centimeters deep water after the nearby river Hem overflowed from Wednesday. Local branch of Red Cross Committee have prepared temporary settlement for the evacuated people.

Small evacuations also took place in towns of Polincove and Ardres. Farmlands in Hames-Boucres were flooded after the bank of a canal linking Guine and Calais burst.

French weather reports forecasted the rain would continue through the region in the coming 48 hours, which may worsen the situation.
