An 80-year-old Albanian man beheaded his 19-year-old neighbor pregnant with his child, local media reported Thursday.

The killing took place at a village near the town of Durres as Shaban Norja shot dead Aishe Vata, who was three-month-pregnant before cutting her head off and throwing it away, in the hopes that the body wouldn't be identified.

Norja confessed to police he raped Aishe five years ago, adding they had maintained sexual relations afterwards. Aishe, a freshmen of a nursery school, was pregnant with Norja before being killed.

Shaban's son, Nard Norja who migrated to Italy, feared a possible blood feud from Vata's family and decided to help the police, giving clear details about his father's whereabouts and the cabin where the crime was committed.

Meanwhile, DNA tests confirmed that the 80-year-old is the father of the victim's child.

Many villagers still cannot believe that Norja is the murderer and said that they knew him as a respected and peaceful old man in the village.

The police is trying to collect evidence from the village but found locals were careful not to implicate other girls, since Norja claimed that he had been sexually involved with other women in the village.
