A hundred U.S. and Canadian paratroopers drilled in Poland's Bledow desert on Monday and were later joined by Polish paratroopers on land. Apart from the soldiers, the exercise also involved the airdrop of a vehicle and equipment.

The U.S. C-17 Globemaster and Canadian C-130 Hercules planes that transported the paratroopers took off from the Ramstein base in Germany, U.S. Sergeant Grzegorz Sabinewicz told polish press.

"The exercise started from a parachute jump from the planes and then the soldiers had to complete a short mission. On Tuesday, the exercise will be continued at the military range in Zagan," Sergeant Sabinewicz said.

The drills, which have been prepared over several months, are a result of the long-standing cooperation of the participating units, said the press officer of Poland's 6th Airborne Brigade, Marcin Gil.
