The Venice airport in Italy was evacuated on Sunday after someone said there was a bomb inside it, but the threat was later found to be a false alarm, local reports said.
A suitcase in the airport, which is located around 15 km away from the Italian water city, was identified as dangerous as possibly containing some kind of explosive, Rai state television said.
The international airport was evacuated and several flights bound to destinations including London, Paris and Chisinau were delayed or cancelled, while police and firefighters were rushing to the spot.
In the evening, bomb disposal experts said after an inspection that the threat was a false alarm. They only found tent poles and ropes in the suitcase, and all activities were restored in the airport.
