Albanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Edmond Haxhinasto on Wednesday guaranteed maximal support for further development of maritime transport in Albania, according to Albanian Telegraphic Agency.

Present at the annual analysis for 2014 and goals for 2015 for maritime transport, Haxhinasto considered the past year as a dynamic year for maritime transport in general.

"The currently exploited capacity of ports is at 60 percent. There is a large space to exploit volumes and increase incomes, as an indispensability that serves economy," said the minister.

"I would require a better planning of the coordination of capacities of ports because we are the entry gate of Corridor 8," said the minister.

He underlined that an extraordinary potential exists, and it will be more concretized when other infrastructural works such as railways and roads are finalized.
