The Finnish Customs announced on Wednesday that it has seized more than 100 kg of amphetamine and 3 kg of cocaine.

In November 2015, when inspecting a truck on a ferry arriving at the Port of Vaasa, western Finland, customs officers found a total of 104 kg of amphetamine and 3 kg of cocaine in a cache under the floor panels of the truck trailer.

The truck carrying the narcotics, classified as extremely dangerous, arrived in Finland from Central Europe via Sweden.

The customs said the street value of the amphetamine would be equivalent to 8 million euros(8.72 U.S. dollars) and the cocaine would be worth 1.2 million euros.

Hannu Sinkkonen, director of Intelligence and Investigation at the Western Customs District of Finland, told the Finnish News Agency STT that this is certainly the largest single seizure of drugs in the Finnish criminal history.

He added that the narcotics were not only large in quantity, but also very high in purity.

Two men have been detained on suspicion of drug offense.

Prior to the case, the largest seizure of drugs in Finland occurred in May 2015, when police captured 54 kg of exceptionally high-grade amphetamines in the municipality of Nokia, southwest Finland.
