Slovenia's industrial revenue generated by exports in 2016

Slovenia's national industrial output has increased by 6 percent to 21.3 billion euros in 2016 over the year before, with about three quarters of the value generated by exports.

According to the Statistics Office's final report for 2016 released on Tuesday, the nation's industrial output growth was above theEuropean Union(EU) average of 0.9 percent. The total amount of revenue generated by Slovenian manufacturing companies last year accounted for 0.4 percent of the EU's industrial output.

Processing companies accounted for 99.4 percent of the revenue, while the rest was generated by the mining sector, the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported, citing national statistics.

Companies producing motor vehicles and trailers generated 13 percent of industrial revenue, the statistics showed. Producers of electronics followed with 12 percent.

Food and drinks producers generated a large share of their revenue on the domestic market, 79 percent and 73 percent respectively, the STA report shows.

More than one fifth of industrial revenue made in Slovenia was generated by the 10 best-selling products, which include five automotive items, as well as beer, bread, and medications.
