Kyrgyzstan is preparing to send its peacekeepers to Syria, Bishkek's U.N. Ambassador Talaibek Kydyrov said here on Friday.
"Kyrgyzstan is preparing to send eight peacekeepers to Syria," Kydyrov told journalists.
Twenty-five Kyrgyz peacekeepers are present in hotspots around the world, including in Haiti and Sudan, he said.
Kyrgyzstan's debt for U.N. peacekeeping operations stands at 123,000 U.S. dollars today, the said.
The size of countries' contribution to U.N. peacekeeping operations is determined depending on their potential, GDP and other factors, Kydyrov said. |
