Jordanian protesters call for ouster of government
Thousands of Jordanians on Friday took to the streets to call for the ouster of the government led by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and amendment to the constitution.
In the demonstration held in downtown Amman, the protesters chanted "Down with Ensour... We want the constitution to be amended."
The protests were urged by the Islamic Action Front, Jordan's largest opposition party, which boycotted the recent legislative elections and demanded radical amendment to the constitution.
Similar demonstrations also took place in different parts of the country, where the participants held banners calling for ousting the government, uprooting corruption and realizing genuine political reforms.
