Saudi Arabia announces high-tech security plans for hajj

Saudi Arabia announced Wednesday high-tech security plans for hajj that will be executed by more than 95,000 police force to prevent terror attacks, according to Saudi Press Agency.

Security authorities which are providing services for pilgrims in the holy sites and ensuring their safety will use sophisticated techniques, modern equipment and security plans, Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee told the agency.

He stressed maintaining safety and security of pilgrims requires to take all the possibilities seriously and Saudi Arabia have witnessed in the recent past a fierce terrorist campaign which does not exclude the holy sites.

He called on all pilgrims to adhere to the performance of rituals and stay away any work distracting them from performing the Hajj rituals and put them at risk. "The pilgrimage is not a field for political conflicts and sectarian differences, with taking into consideration of narrow space and congestion of pilgrims, where any kind of unrest could lead to a disaster, the minister warned.
