Four French journalist abducted in Syria since June 2013 were free and in good health, French President Francois Hollande announced on Saturday.

Hollande "learned with great relief this morning the release of four French journalists...They will join France in the coming hours, " the presidency office said in a statement.

Edward Elias, Didier Francois, Nicolas Henin and Pierre Torres " are in good health despite the extremely harsh conditions of their captivity," he added, stressing Paris "commitment to freedom of the press, which imposes the need to respect the safety and integrity of journalists in their role as information.

With two nationals still remained in the hands of al-Qaeda linked cells in the Sahel region, Hollande reiterated his "relentlessly determination and mobilization for their release.

After ten months of captivity, the journalists were found in the Turkish Sanliurfa province with their hands and eyes bound, according to media reports.
