Clash kills 13 in northern Afghan province
Up to 13 people, including five security personnel and eight militants, were killed, as a clash erupted between security forces and the Taliban in northern Kunduz province on Tuesday.
According to district governor Nasrudin Nazari, Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints in parts of the Dasht-e-Archi district early Tuesday, triggering a gun battle.
The militants, after leaving eight bodies behind, fled the scene.
The official confirmed that five security personnel were killed and four others injured.
Taliban militants have not commented on the news.
